Interesting story in the New York Daily News today about a group that is hoping to “swift boat” former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
9/11 Parents and Families of Firefighters and WTC Victims, a group whose name is somewhat self-explanatory, is holding a rally at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan to shed light on Giuliani’s lack of leadership on September 11, 2001. The organization charges that Giuliani’s authorization of the FDNY’s purchase of poor radio technology and a lack of communication between the firefighters and the NYPD showed a lack of leadership on his part; quite a deviation from Giuliani’s ruse as a strong leader during a time of crisis.
Said one of the members of the organization, “On the body of my dead son, he’s running for President.”
I’d add that he’s running for the White House on the body of a wounded nation.
